Dear CUPE 233 Members,
Congratulations on another successful day, even with the cold and snowy weather! Spirits remain high on the picket lines, and we are receiving several solidarity statements in support of our strike.
We have established a process for requesting a shift change or an accommodation. Please see below.
Requests for Shift Changes or Accommodations
If you require a shift change or an accommodation, the following process applies:
- Please email the CUPE 233 Strike Committee account at cupe233strike@gmail.com.
- Please state your full name, your current shift time, requested shift time, and reason for request.
- The Strike Committee meets daily at 6pm. We review each request for shift changes or accommodations on a case-by-case basis.
We are also pleased to announce that we received two more generous donations from TFA in the amount of $5,000 and OPSEU 596 in the amount of $5,000. That is a total of $15,000 that have been donated to our local’s strike fund in 24 hours! Huge thanks to CUPE Ontario, TFA, and OPSEU 596. And, other donations have been received. We are continuing to work with our other CUPE brothers and sisters and friends on raising more money towards our strike fund.
The Toronto and York Regional Labour Council (TYRLC) has also emailed their members to alert them of our strike. Expect more CUPE locals and other unions joining our picket lines occasionally in solidarity with CUPE 233.
Enjoy the rest of your evening. See you tomorrow.
In solidarity,
Your Strike Committee
